Advin Servers - Secaucus, NJ Network Maintenance – Maintenance details

Our upstream has informed us of a maintenance that will occur in our Secaucus, NJ location.

Phase 1: Core Network Firmware Upgrade (No Outage Expected)
Start: Friday, October 30, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET (UTC−04:00)

Our upstream will begin upgrading firmware on the New York core network. These units are fully redundant, and each will be upgraded one at a time, with correct operation confirmed before we move on to the next unit. No service interruption is expected during this phase.

Phase 2: Edge Routing Engine Replacement (Brief Full Outage)
Start: Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 12:00 AM (midnight) ET (UTC−04:00)
Expected outage: 15 minutes or less

At midnight, our upstream will upgrade the New York edge router by swapping its routing engine cards for new, upgraded units. This swap requires the router to be powered off completely: the old routing engines are removed, the new ones are inserted, and the router is then powered back on and boots up on the new hardware. During this time, all network connectivity at New York will be completely unavailable. We expect the outage to last no more than 15 minutes.

The maintenance window remains open until 2:00 AM ET to allow time for post-upgrade cable grooming and verification. Once the router has booted on the new routing engines and the network is back online, no further outages are expected for the remainder of the window.
